Edwin E. S. Kim

is a violinist of rare expressive depth, celebrated for his poetic sound, intellectual intensity, and distinctive musical identity. Performing internationally, he is recognized for bridging tradition and innovation through deeply personal and sincere interpretations that resonate with audiences and critics alike. He has appeared as a soloist with leading orchestras including the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra, Regensburg Philharmonic Orchestra, Vogtland Philharmonic, Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra, Göttingen Symphony Orchestra, the Korean National Symphony Orchestra, and the KBS Symphony Orchestra, among many other distinguished orchestras worldwide. In the 2025/26 season, he will make his Dutch debut with Sinfonia Rotterdam at the renowned De Doelen Grote Zaal and his China debut with the Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra. His festival highlights include the prestigious Litomyšl Festival, where his performance with conductor Leoš Svárovský earned 15 curtain calls and widespread acclaim. From 2012 to 2019, Edwin served as Artistic Director of the Lech Classic Music Festival in Austria, with his concerts broadcast by ORF TV and radio. Since 2015, he has led Camerata SOL in Korea as Artistic Director, curating ambitious, conceptually rich projects such as the complete Four Seasons by Vivaldi, Piazzolla, and Richter (2023), the full cycle of Mozart’s violin concertos (2024), and the 3B Series (2025), featuring violin concertos by Bach, Beethoven, and Brahms. These projects have established him not only as a compelling soloist but also as a visionary artistic leader. His discography includes Sehnsucht, Das Leben, and Mein Wiener Herz, released under Decca and Universal Music. Das Leben received exceptional critical acclaim and topped the classical sales charts upon its release, while the other two albums were also highly praised for their lyrical sensitivity and refined musical insight. He currently serves as Professor of Violin at Hanyang University in Seoul, where he is devoted to mentoring the next generation of artists with the same sincerity and passion that define his own artistic journey.
