Sándor Jávorkai’s Intensive Master class is aimed at music students, professional musicians and talented young people who would like to improve their technical, musical and artistic skills. The Master class is also aimed at those who are preparing for concerts, auditions or competitions. The Master class is open to active and passive participants. The number of active participants is limited to 6; the number of passive participants is unlimited. Active participants will work on the specific program they themselves select. A final concert will be held at the end of the Master class. A piano accompanist will be at the student’s disposal, however students can bring their own accompanists to the Master class.
The Master class will be given in the Music school (Glasbena šola) at Linhartov Trg 1, Radovljica, Slovenia.

Entry conditions
The master classes are aimed at music students, professional musicians and highly talented young people. All master classes are open to active and passive participants. The number of active participants per class is limited to 10; the number of passive participants is unlimited. Active participants will work on the specific program they themselves select. Instruction time will be arranged with the teacher on the first day of classes. Free practice rooms are at their disposal. A final concert will be held at the end of the master classes. Passive students may attend all events. All the master classes will be given in the Music school (Glasbena šola) Linhartov Trg 1, Radovljica, Slovenia. Registration, together with the enrollment fee must be completed at least three weeks before the beginning of the master classes you are interested in.

SIAVUSH GADJIEV
The pianist Siavush Gadjiev completed his musical education at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow as a student of famous teachers such as Bella Davidovich and Boris Zemliansky. At the Moscow Conservatory he also obtained the Master of Music degree (“Course of Interpretation”) and was invited to teach in the prestigious Central Special Music School of the Moscow Conservatory, intended to train the most musically gifted pupils from the ex Soviet Union as well as from Japan, Hungary, Yugoslavia, Romania, Korea, United States. He taught many highly talented pupils, amongst whom there were winners of the Tchaikovsky competition, Axa Dublin, Schumann, Casagrande and other competitions. Gadjiev develops an educational activity running master classes, seminars and thematic lectures-concerts in Russia, Slovenia, Croatia, Germany, Italy, with particular emphasize on the interpretation of Mozart, Beethoven, Rachmaninov and Prokofiev. He also leads special classes for future pedagogues. Siavush Gadjiev has held recitals in many cities of the ex Soviet Union, Germany, Slovenia, Croatia, Yugoslavia, Italy and the USA. He has also performed with major orchestras and in chamber music ensembles with distinguished European musicians. He is a member of the “Ljubljana Piano Trio”. He was jury member of many international piano competitions, amongst them: “Ferenc Liszt” in Budapest, “Hummel” in Bratislava, “Città di Cantù” and many others. Siavush Gadjiev has held many master classes and keeps having them all over Italy, Slovenia, Germany and the United States. He lives in Italy and teaches at the Conservatory for Music and Ballet in Ljubljana (Slovenia) and in Gorizia, in a private school for young talents, in which he has many students from different parts of Italy and Slovenia, amongst them Giuseppe Guarrera (2nd Prize Winner at the Mottram Manchester International Piano Competition), Alexander Gadjiev (1st Prize Winner Hamamtsu piano competition 2015 and finalist of “Busoni” International Piano Competition in Bolzano) and many others. Currently he is also giving master classes and lectures for Master Degree students at the “Giuseppe Tartini” Conservatory in Triest. Gadjiev is the Artistic Director of the “Giuliano Pecar” International Piano Competition and the “Estate di Gorizia” summer festival. The reviewer and musicologist Renato della Torre defined him in “Messaggero Veneto” as an artist “of great talent, supported by the splendid pianistic technique.” “Gadjiev hypnotized the audience with the Prokofiev’s Seventh Sonata in B flat Major” (“Corriere dell’ Arte”, Turin). “The interpretation of Brahms’ pieces was a musical event which will live in the memory for a long time… Gadjiev demonstrated the great rich traditions of the Russian piano school” (Olga Jovanović, “Promuzika”, Beograd). “The extraordinary pianist Gadjiev performed Schumann’s Quintet like it was sculptured in marble.” (J. Šetinc, “Večer”, Maribor). “The public was impressed by a most perceiving, delicate and philosophical performance. Moments of high intensity and of various sound colours were magically created by the musician.” (Rudolf van der Vecht, “Westfalische Post“, Wuppertal).
VASILIJ MELJNIKOV
Vasilij Meljnikov studied at the Academy of Music in Minsk, Belarus, with one of the most renowned Russian professors, violinist Olga Parkhomenko, who herself was a student and postgraduate of the famous David Oistrakh. After finishing his postgraduate studies with prof. Parkhomenko, Vasilij Meljnikov perfected his violin performance at the Peter Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow. He began his pedagogical work as a professor at the Special Secondary School for Exceptional Music Talents in Minsk. As member of the Belarus National Chamber Orchestra he performed in Soviet Union Republics as well as in other European countries. Since 1990 he lives in Slovenia and teaches at the Academy of Music in Ljubljana. In 1997 he won the first prize at the Vienna Modern Masters International Competition in Vienna, Austria. For six years he has held the position of the Concert Master of RTV Slovenia Symphony Orchestra. Since 2000 he is a permanent violin professor at the Academy of Music in Ljubljana.
TERESA TREVISAN
The Italian pianist Teresa Trevisan was born in Palmanova and graduated “cum laude” from the Trieste Music Conservatory “Giuseppe Tartini”. She started her piano studies with Maria Puxeddu going on to learn with Professor Luciano Gante at the Trieste Music Conservatory. Afterward she advanced her studies at the Ecole normale de Musique “Alfred Cortot” in Paris with Aquiles Delle Vigne, becoming then his assistant there. Teresa Trevisan was awarded various recognitions at national and international competitions performing in numerous Italian cities (Venice, Rome, Padua, Milan, Gorizia, Udine) and abroad (Paris, Brussels, Skopje, Bitola, Rotterdam, New York, Hartford, Washington, Salzburg, Ulan Bator, Vilnius, Izmir, Tirana, Novi Sad, Sofia, Cork Konservatorium and Boesendorfer Saal im Mozarthaus in Vienna, Trinity Laban College in London…). Her interest in Chamber Music was born at the courses of the International Menuhin Academy of Gstaad and the International Academy of the Trio di Trieste in Duino. Her performing debut as a piano duo with her brother Filippo was held in 1989 at the Bourg Madame Festival (France). The Rachmaninov Opera omnia recording (for two pianos and four hands) and the Bach Brandenburg Concertos (arrangement for piano duet by Max Reger, revised by Filippo Trevisan for Velut Luna) received a great critical acclaim. In 1998 the duo was awarded the “Morét d’aur” prize. Since 2002 Teresa Trevisan has been playing with the pianist Flavio Zaccaria. Aiming to discover a repertoire of less well-known works, in 2005 they recorded a CD entirely devoted to unpublished works of Max Reger (2005 Velut luna). The Duo Trevisan-Zaccaria was awarded an Honorary Mention at the Web Concert Hall Competition 2006. She recently performed with the Italian cellist Luca Fiorentini in the USA reaching Washington and New York. As a teacher, many of her students have been selected and awarded in some of the most prestigious national and international competitions, such as the Gina Bachauer-Salt Lake, the Isidor Baijc-Novi Sad, the Jeunesses Musicales-Bucarest, the Yamaha Music Foundation of Europe, the Stefano Marizza International Piano Competition-Trieste, the Premio Pianistico Bengalli-Val Tidone, the Concorso Clementi-Firenze-Lastra a Signa,Italy; the Chopin Piano Competition, Radovljica, Slovenia; the “Stefano Marizza”-Trieste; the Premio Pianistico Bengalli-Val Tidone; The International Piano Competition-Osimo; the Adilia Alieva-Svizzera, The Thomas & Evon Cooper International Piano Competition, USA; The Ettlingen International Competition for young Pianists, Germany; the International Piano Competition for young pianists ARTHUR RUBINSTEIN, Poland; the Aarhus International Piano Competition; the Busoni Piano Competition. She is regularly sitting in the Jury of many National and International Competitions. Teresa Trevisan is currently full time piano professor at the Music Conservatory of Trieste after successfully participating in the last State National Competition. She is regularly invited to give piano and piano-duo masterclasses. Among the most recent, the Oulu University in Finland, the Conservatorio Superior de Música” Manuel Massotti Littel” of Murcia in Spain, the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre in Vilnius, the Conservatoire Royal de Mons, the Yasar University of Izmir, the Sofia Music Academy, the CIT School of Music in Cork, the Konservatorium Wien, the Trinity Laban College in London and, through a videoconference in the frame of the LOLA project, at the Fort Worth Texas Christian University (USA). Since 1998 she has been the artistic director of the Festival Musiche in Fortezza of Palmanova and the Piano Competition “Filippo Trevisan”.
RUBEN DALIBALTAYAN
Ruben Dalibaltayan was born in Yerevan, Armenia. After completing music school in the class of Anahit Shahbazyan, he moved to Moscow to pursue his musical education in the Gnesin Music Academy under the mentorship of professor Arthur Berngardt. Ruben obtained his Master’s degree at the Moscow State Conservatory under the guidance of professor Valery Kastelsky. His professional and personal formation has been greatly influenced by a number of outstanding musicians such as Boris Berlin, Lazar Berman and Alexis Weissenberg, who gave Ruben his personal international prize in 2001. Winner of ten prestigious international piano competitions in Armenia, China, Croatia and Italy, Ruben quickly established himself in the international music scene, an accomplishment that didn’t go unnoticed by prominent performers and critics alike. The prize awards he collected at the Second China International Piano Competition in Beijing (China), the Svetislav Stančić International Piano Competition in Zagreb (Croatia) and at the Aram Khachaturyan International Piano Competition in Yerevan (Armenia) expanded his recognition as an “intelligent and subtle pianist, whose performance always reveals something new and consistently interesting” according to Lazar Berman’s testimony. Ruben’s concert tours include numerous countries of Europe, Asia and America. The performances range from solo recitals and concerts with Symphony orchestras to participation in chamber ensembles – a piano duo with his wife Julia Gubajdullina and the well-known trio “Amadeus” to be mentioned. Ruben is an active member of the SONEMUS organisation (Sarajevo’s Organisation for New Music). His repertoire encompasses music from baroque to present days. With more than 20 concerts in his program and a special emphasis on the Romantic period Ruben performs a wide range of musical works. In collaboration with the Croatian Radio he has recently recorded the entirety of the piano opus of the famous Croatian composer Blagoje Bersa. The pianist also gives special attention and dedication to the promotion of the works of Armenian composers, an interesting and original music inseparably linked to the culture of his native country. Ruben began his pedagogic activities at the Sarajevo Music academy in 2000 and has been serving since 2005 as a Professor of piano at the Zagreb University Music Academy. During the last ten years he raised a large number of young pianists who went on to become finalists and prize winners of more than 50 international competitions. These competitions include most notably the International Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw, the Robert Schumann International Piano Competition in Zwickau, the Zhuhai International Mozart Piano Competition in Zhuhai, China, the Shura Cherkassky International Piano Competition in Milan, the International Piano Competition for Young Musicians in Enschede, Netherlands, etc. As part of his pedagogical work Ruben holds master classes and seminars on a regular basis in Croatia and abroad. He is also frequently invited to serve as a jury member at various international music competitions. His noteworthy projects include the founding of the piano summer school in Makarska (Croatia) in 2005, together with Julia Gubaidullina. The seaside piano master course has since evolved into one of the most prominent events for young pianists in the region.
JULIA GABAIDULLINA
Julia Gubaidullina was born in a family of professional musicians in the Moldovan capital of Chisinau. She started her piano studies when she was four and already at twelve years of age Julia made her debut as a soloist with orchestra. Having completed her studies at the specialist music school in 1992 she entered the Chisinau Academy of Music in the class of professor Ludmila Vaverko. Throughout her years of study, Julia took an active part in international masterclasses and seminars with distinguished professors such as Alexandr Bonduriansky, Valery Kastelsky, Willis Delony, Gunilda Kramer, Minoru Nodzima. Likewise she was a participant in the Summer University UNESCO, from which she received the Special Commendation. Graduating from the Academy with honors in 1997, Julia continued her studies on the post-graduate course at the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatoire in the class of Yuri Hairapetian. On completion of her post-graduate studies in 1999, Julia took up a post on the board of professors at the Sarajevo Academy of Music. In 2005 Julia moved to Croatia and started to work at the Zagreb Academy of Music. Julia Gubaidullina has gained prizes in various competitions both nationally in Moldova (First Prize, 1993), and internationally, gaining first prize at the Consonante’93 Chamber Music Competition in Romania, first prize at the Chisinau International Competition in Moldova (1997) and third prize at the Città di Sulmona International Piano Competition in Italy (2000). There are numerous broadcasts that Julia has made for the Moldovan national radio and television, and Julia has also made many appearances with the Symphony Orchestra of National Philharmony performing concertos by Bach, Beethoven, Brahms, Schumann, Franck, Ravel, Rachmaninov and Skriabin. A significant part of Julia’s repertory is given to the works of Russian composers, in particular Skriabin and Medtner, whose oeuvre the pianist gains special pleasure in performing. Along with solo recitals Julia also takes part in a variety of chamber ensembles. Being a member of the SONEMUS ensemble it has enabled Julia to gain great experience in the field of contemporary music, performing many new works including several world premieres. Julia also considers her piano duo performances with pianist Ruben Dalibaltayan to be an important part of her work. Concert tours have taken Julia across the globe to Russia, Romania, Spain, Portugal, Austria, Sweden, Switzerland, Italy, Croatia, Albania, Macedonia, Serbia, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Japan and the USA.
CLARA BIERMASZ
The Dutch-born pianist Clara Biermasz received her musical training in the classes of Prof. Alexander Warenberg and Prof. Klàra Wurtz at the Academy of the Arts in Utrecht, the Netherlands. She completed her bachelor studies in 2004 and then studied in the classes of Prof. Balàzs Szokolay and Prof. Balàzs Rèti at the Franz Liszt Music Academy in Budapest, Hungary, and in the class of Prof. Michael Hruby at the University of Music and the Performing Arts in Vienna. She completed her M.A. with distinction in 2012.
Clara has attended master classes held by Itamar Golan, Jan Wijn, Alan Weiss, Jean-Claude Vanden Eynden, Martijn van den Hoek, Gergely Bogànyi, Istvan Gulyàs and Paolo Giacometti.
She is an award-winner at many international competitions, including the VSB Prize and the Youth Jury Prize at the Princess Christina Competition in the Netherlands (1996), the first prize in the category of chamber music and ‘Primo Premio Assoluto’ – the overall winner in all categories (respectively in duo with Àdàm Jàvorkai) at the international competition ‘Premio Città di Padova’, Italy (2008). In 2008, Clara was also a prize-winner at the ‘18th International Chamber Music Competition Thessaloniki’ in Greece.
Clara has held concerts at the following venues: in the Vienna Konzerthaus, at the Beethoven Festival Wien, at the Chopin Festival in Gaming (Austria), as well as at such prestigious places as the Palazzo Leoni Montanari, Vicenza, the Palazzo Albrizzi in Venice, the Palazzo Zacco-Armeni in Padua (Italy), the Museum of Fine Arts in Budapest, the National Theatre in Miskolc (Hungary), the Dutch Embassy in Vienna, the Dutch Embassy in Cairo (Egypt), the Dutch Embassy in Muscat (Oman), the Festival Peinture en Musique (France), Vredenburg in Utrecht, de Doelen in Rotterdam, the Muziekcentrum Frits Philips, Eindhoven, the Hermitage Amsterdam (Holland) and at festivals like the Cello Festival in Dordrecht and the ‘Settimane musicali al Teatro Olimpico’, Vicenza, as well as the Kodàly Society Wales, where she also has held master-classes.
She has made several recordings for international radio and television stations, among others for ATV and ORF (Austria). In 2013, her CD with sonatas for cello and piano by Brahms and Grieg was released for the austrian label Gramola (Gramola 99034). This CD was sponsored by ARP and Bluthner. Clara Biermasz has been the scholarship-holder of different cultural funds in the Netherlands such as the Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds, Stichting Willem Mengelberg Fonds, Stichting Fonds voor de Geld- en Effectenhandel, Stichting A.F.V.O.M.S., Stichting Niemeijer Fonds and Stichting.
Clara is artistic director of the Dutch Chopin Foundation and board member of the International Chopin Society in Vienna.

SANDOR JAVORKAI
Violinist Sándor Jávorkai received his first violin instructions at the age of three from his father and already performed in public at the age of five. He studied in Budapest and Vienna. He played as a soloist with renowned orchestras such as Berlin Symphony, Dresden Philharmonic, Sinfonietta Baden, Savaria Symphony Orchestra, Budapest Philharmonic, Belgrade Philharmonic and many others. Concert travels have led Jávorkai throughout Hungary, Italy, Spain, Germany, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania, Russia, Holland, Austria, Greece, England, Malta, Norway, Turkey, Japan, Colombia, Tunisia, Egypt and Israel. Sándor Jávorkai has performed at important concert halls such as the Vienna Konzerthaus, the Berlin Konzerthaus, the Luxembourg Philharmonic, the Sava-Centar in Belgrade, the “Forbidden City” in Beijing, the Warsaw Philharmonic and Opera City in Tokyo. He has performed at the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, the Spring Festival in Budapest and at the Spring in Russia Festival in Moscow. Sándor Jávorkai was awarded with the first prizes in numerous international competitions. He performs frequently with his brother, cellist Adam Jávorkai. In 2009 they have been named as Artists of the Year by Jeunesse and Bank Austria.
ADAM JAVORKAI
Ad�m Jávorkai attended the Hans Richter Conservatoire in his native city and the Béla Bartók Conservatoire in Budapest, which he completed with distinction. From 1996 to 2004, he studied in the classes of Prof. Angelika May and Prof. Reinhard Latzko at the University of Music and the Performing Arts in Vienna. He completed his M.A. with unanimous distinction. Currently, he is pursuing a doctorate in musicology in Vienna. For further perfectioning he has attended master classes held by Miklós Perényi, Ina-Esther Joost, Tobias Kühne, Ferenc Rados and Anner Bijlsma. Ádám Jávorkai has ended many competitions with honours. As a teenager, he won the Hungarian Emil Vajda Stringed Instruments Competition for three years in succession after 1991 and the first prize of the National Cello Competition in Hungary in 1990, 1993 and 1996. 1998: Bohuslav Martinu Prize of the International Summer Academy Prague-Vienna-Budapest; 2000: Appreciation Prizes ‘Cellist of the Year’ and ‘Best Interpreter of Slovenian Compositions’, awarded by the Association of Slovenian Composers; 2002: Bartók Prize, Semmering, Austria; 2003: Kodály Prize for the duo with Sándor Jávorkai, Austria; 2008: in duo with Clara Biermasz first prize at the international competition ‘Premio Città di Padova’, Italy, category chamber music, and at the same place awarded the ‘Primo Premio Assoluto’ together with Clara Biermasz as the overall winners of all categories; the same year, first prize at ‘Soloist and Orchestra’, Italy. In 2009, Sándor and Ádám Jávorkai were together honoured as ‘Artist of the Year’ by Jeunesse and Bank Austria. As a soloist and chamber musician, he has held concerts in Tokyo Opera City, the ‘Forbidden City’ in Beijing, the Suntory Hall, Tokyo, the Vienna Musikverein, the Vienna Konzerthaus, the Berlin Konzerthaus, the Arts Center in Seoul, the Schleswig-Holstein Festival, the New Philharmonia in Luxembourg, the ‘Settimane Musicali al Teatro Olimpico’ in Vicenza, the Chopin Festival in Gaming, the Palace of Arts in Budapest, the Beethoven Festival in Vienna, the Museum of Fine Arts in Budapest and many other places. In 2014, in recognition of his work against discrimination and for international understanding he was awarded an Honorary Membership of the Raoul Wallenberg Foundation by Baruch Tenembaum.
